Eyes Close By Themselves, Squinch A Lot, Difficulty In Opening. Taking Botox Injections. Underlying Cause?

I am very concerned about my eyes. I squench a lot and sometimes my eyes close by themselves and I have to strain to open them which sometimes makes them close tighter. what is this. I have seen several doctors and they say they have no idea what it can be. I have had injections of botox which seems to help alittle but I would like to know what it is. I can be driving and all of a sudden my close and I get nervous which makes them close tighter. what is it?

Hello,
It seems from the history that you are having blepharospasm for which you are on treatment by botox injections.

Blepharospasm is caused by irritation of facial nerve, but in majority of cases the underlying cause for irritation of facial nerve cannot be made out and it is called as essential blepharospasm. Hence usually evaluation for blepharpspasm is not done and symptomatic treatment is sufficient.
Thank you
