Fainting Observed In Lateral Incisor Post Accident. Is There Any Treatment?
dear sir i had got a very minor accident 4-5 yrs ago. and now i have observed that my lateral inscisor teeth is getting faint...i have consult with the dentist he has apprised me that my tooth has got dead. and there is a treatment for this problem is really there any treatment and if is available what kind of treatment it wd be??

according to history presented by you, i would like to inform you that your dentist is right when he said that your lateral incisor is dead, it means that due to trauma the blood supply to your tooth has been cut off which has resulted in a discolored tooth, you have not mentioned if there is any associated pain or swelling.
i assume that the tooth is symptomless, there is a definite treatment for your tooth,
its root canal treatment, and following the root canal , a crown will be cemented over your discolored tooth to make it look natural.(matching the color of the adjacent teeth).
i would suggest get the treatment done soon before its too late,

Your tooth received trauma from the fall, it has killed the nerve and blood supply to the tooth. The tooth now needs to have a root canal to remove the necrotic tissue from the inside. The faintness you speak of on the outside can be repaired through composites, veneers or crowning the tooth.

Here in your case as you mate an accident getting your tooth traumatized, made that particular tooth dead.
But in such case, fainting or slight discoloration of the tooth is common & that's because of internal bleed within pulp chamber ( central part of tooth ) after trauma.
If it is so, that tooth may turn little blackish due to hemoglobin con-taint which spread-ed within pulp chamber through internal bleeding.
Treatment is very simple. That is Root Canal Treatment followed by Crown placement.
And yes that will be done by your dentist after taking diagnostic x-ray & proper clinical examination.

your dentist is absolutely right.
the accident has damaged the vital pulp within your lateral incisor.the tooth has dead/non-vital since the pulp,which provides nourishment to tooth has got damaged.
get x-ray of tooth to rule out the chance of periapical pathoses/root fracture.
root canal treatment with crown placement is recommended in such cases.
in this,entire pulp within coronal and radicular portion is removed,canal is irrigated with saline and sodium hypochlorite and dried,then obturated with gutta-percha cones.
ceramic crown is placed after1-2 weeks,or else there is chance of breakage of tooth.
take antibiotics and analgesics complete course.

I would like to tell you that due to trauma your tooth has become non-vital.It means that all your nerve supply to that tooth has been lost & its pulp has become necrotic,that's the reason it has become discolored.

-do have any mobility in this teeth?
-is there any sensitivity in that teeth?
If there is no mobility in your teeth then you should go for root canal treatment followed by PFM Capping.But there's mobility in that teeth then its difficult.

faint means color has fainted ? yes your tooth's pulp has got dead i'e your tooth has become non vital . no worries, get a root canal and capping done.
