Falling Sick Often.

My child is two and half year old. From the time she has reached 2 years iam finding one thing is that she falls sick very often. Some times she gets fever, cold. Once that is cleared she gets loose motions. She was also admitted once for the fever in the hospital. What to do for her not to fall sick always. I think her immunity is very less. Is ther any thing i can give her to improve her immunity

Hi aarti, looks like your daughter has some infection. Nothing very serious. She should be ok with the antibiotics.

To avoid all kinds of infection in children my paeds. told me these things:

1. Always wash your hands with soap n water before feeding your toddler. Take care that food and utensils are very hygeinic. (Now i microwave all her food and dishes regularly)

2. Encourage your kid to wash hands with soap before eating.

3. Make sure your child's diet is balanced. Give fruits, vegetables, nuts to give them all vitamins to keep immunity strong (not an easy task!)

I give my kid homemade veggie soups or chicken soup regularly. Thankfully she likes it. No point in giving children antibiotics for cold tilldoc says because most of the time runny nose is viral n antibiotic is useless.

check ur child weight with the local or WHO growth charts. if her growth over several months has not faltered there is nothing to worry, but if it has faltered immediately see the physician. infants below 4-5 years commonly get mild viral infections , mostly due to public exposure may be at kindergartens through other kids. try to prevent that. check the diet. recurrent coughing with out fever may be asthma at this age, see physician. but if the child is eating well playing well sleeping well and growing well on growth chart nothing to worry.

Hi Piyush, Dont give ur child any medicines in cold. Just give her crocin if fever is above 100, dont worry just give her steam. Cuz u give antibiotic in btw. cold n all, thats why ur child is nt getting cured properly, let that thing come out. if she is coughing give her ayurvedic tea, lot of natural care tea come in market. if she dnt take it, then best is give her steam. or medicine of cough, just cough, if coughing is high. like deriphynille or so... let cold come out, keep cleaning nose area.. luk no matter cold, it takes 3 to 5 days to get cured, so, y to give medicines, n try to stop it in btw. Try it with steam, take console or any other company steamer from any chemist shop, n give her when child is sleeping or let child cry n take steam, just keep fan closed for 15 min after steam. Take care, hope she gets better with this..
