Family Has Allergies And Used To Use Actifed And Wal Act To Clear Sinus. Suggest Substitute?
My family has allergies and we used to use Actifed (pseudoephedrine) to clear our sinuses. The past half dozen + years we've used Wal Act which was just as effective. We can't find either one on the market. What happened? Where can we get a substitute? .... preferably with one or the other formula as those two allergy meds are the only two that has worked to allow us to dry up our secretions and get a good night's sleep.
these medicines have beed banned due to there narcotic effect as you can use antiiallergics which are safe in the market may be cpm, fexofenadine ebastine montelucast these are the safe and can be used long to keep allergies under control

General & Family Physician, Dr. Lohit K's Response
Hi, You can check out for these drugs in other drug outlet. If you can't find then can ask for Genac and Aprodine. As they are the other brands available behind the counter that use the old formula.
If you are having this problem for 7 years continuously, I advice you to try out mometasone furoate nasal spray with Tab Montelukast. These may help you as longer duration of use of nasal decongestants and antihistamine can be avoided. Discuss with your doctor.
Hope this helps you. Regards
