Feel Numb In The Big Toe. Din't Stub On Anything. Diabetes? Bitten By Spider?
yesterday, while being outside with just my house shoes on,tinkering with my car...After about three hour of being out there,I was experiencing numbness in my big toe and the one next to it. I did'nt stubb it on any thing, recently. I'm wondering if I may have been bitten by a spider or something?.Also concerned that it could be a sympton of Diabetes?
An insect bite can cause abnormal sensation in the surrounding area.A small mark can sometimes be seen indicating where the bite may have occurred. It may also be associated with swelling of the area. In most cases the symptoms resolve on their own, some persons may develop a secondary infection that requires treatment.
It is also possible that the prolonged activity may have irritated the nerves or muscles resulting in the sensation that you are experiencing, this would also resolve on its own.
In terms of diabetes, abnormal sensation is a complication that occurs as a result of uncontrolled diabetes. In most persons a diagnosis would have already been made.
If you are concerned regarding the possibility of diabetes you should visit your doctor for screening investigations.
I hope this helps
