Feeling A Cool Mint Like Burning Sensation In Mouth, Stopped Using Tooth Whitening Toothpaste. What Is It ?
About 3 weeks ago I began feeling a cool mint like burning sensation in my mouth. I am not sure what it is. It feels like smoking a menthol cigerat or burning from mouth wash... I stopped using a tooth whitening tooth paste. I started working at starbucks around the time it started... I just have no idea what it could be.
sometimes its normal to feel cool mint burning sensation after using tooth paste...
but if it persists for longer duration and is more uncomfortable for you, then you should stop using that paste... the symptoms will eventually subside... irritation can be due to any chemical ingredient in your tooth paste...
avoid intake of hot and spicy foods for few days...
if burning sensation still persists visit your dentist for any further medication...
The symtom described looks like Burning mouth Syndrome. It has various causes like damage to nerves that control pain and taste, hormonal changes, dry mouth, which can be caused by many medicines and disorders such as Sjögren’s syndrome or diabetes, nutritional deficiencies, fungal infection in the mouth, acid reflux, anxiety and depression. Its is relieved if the cause is treated.
Check if you have any of the above mentioned causes. If the sensation persists or increases in intensity, do visit a dentist nearby.
