Feeling Of Being Stabbed In Back With Needle, No Swelling Or Redness

I am in remarkable health with no issues really except for this one odd thing. Every now and then it feels as if someone has stabbed me with a long needle in my back about 3-4 inches over my 'wing' area. What on earth could cause this? No swelling, no redness, no bumps nothing. Just this STINGING that happens every once in a while. It makes me cringe it hurts so bad.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Intermittent abnormal sensations such as the stinging pain you are experiencing, can be related to neuralgia. Neuralgia is nerve related pain or discomfort.
It is related to changes in the structure or function of the nerves in a particular area.

There are different possible causes such as: infection, pressure on a particular nerve from a mass, trauma, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, kidney disease, side effect of medication.

In some persons the exact cause is not known.

There is medication available that can help. You may want to consider visiting your doctor for an assessment.

I hope this helps
