Feeling Of Lump In Throat, Constant Belching. Ultrasound Showed A Nodule In The Right Of Thyroid. Suggestions?
Hello, I have a feeling of a lump in my throat . I had an ultrasound today and found a 2 mm or cm nodule in the right side of my thyroid . I have also had constant belching for the last 6 months that becomes very uncomfortable at times. A few days ago (before the ultrasound) my doctor thought I may be having problems with my gallbladder . What do you think?
The description of your symptoms suggest that you could be having an acid reflux or GERD. Lump in the throat and constant belching are suggestive of excess acid production which is troubling your throat. The nodule on your USG is too small to be significant and causing the above problems. In my opinion; dont worry too much about the nodule.
Try and make changes in your diet, avoid anything too acidic; spicy or fried. Avoid excess alcohol/smoking. Have a supper 3 hours prior to going to bed to reduce acid reflux. Take a PPI like omeprazole for 2 weeks. If you are not better with the above; see your ENT for further examination. If you have any further questions; please feel free to contact us.
Take care, Dr Vaishali Mehta
