Fell Off Ladder. Developed A Hematoma. No Feeling In The Area. Getting Dizzy Spells. Healing Time?
I fell off a ladder 2 weeks ago and developed a hematoma approx. 5 centimeters in diameter. I am an EMT and chose not to go to the hosp. till my fellow EMT MADE me go the next afternoon. A CT scan was done and no fracture was found. The hematoma is VERY slowly going down but I have no "feeling" except around the area, but not ON it. I find myself still kind of "nutty" and can't remember some things. I am dizzy once in awhile, but nothing like the first few days after my fall. How long do concussions, or at least these symptoms continue. I'm scheduled for primary EMT tomorrow.
hello. thanks for posing your worry you did have a mild head trauma / cerebral concussion the healing time simply depends on the extent of lesions you had. the more the damage the more the time for healing. all the same, head trauma could also cause a subdural haematoma which develops slowly and may manifests only weeks or months after the injury. i advice you control your scan later and see a neurosurgeon if symptoms persist. while waiting have sufficient bed rest. goodluck
