Fell On My Front While Rollerblading. Chest Hit The Floor. Have Pains On Chest. Get Out Of Breath If Moved Quickly. Suggestions?
Hi. I fell over a week ago while rollerblading and fell straight on to my front. My arms absorbed some of the impact but I fell hard and my chest hit the floor. Since then I have had pains in my chest (right hand side) and I have not been able to work out as I normally would (I work in a gym). I sometimes get out of breath if I move too quickly in that area and if my partner hugs me I have to say 'not too hard' as the pain is too much (it's like a sharp jabbing pain). Any advice? Thanks
The history you give sounds like you have a muscle strain in your chest. The muscles in that area are probably a bit torn up. Dont be alarmed though, the treatment is as easy as pie. Actually its as easy as RICE.
R- Rest I- Ice C- compression E- Elevation
Basically I want you to ice the area as much as possible. In this way you will be able to get recovery much sooner. Ice till the area is just numb and then stop. Do not ice for too long. You cant compress the area so lets skip that. For elevation. Good deep breathing should do the trick.
I hope this helps you. All the best.
