Foot Bruised While Kicking, Hurts, Walking Also Causes Discomfort. What Could It Be?
I was playing soccer and went to kick the ball before an opponent slid and replaced the ball with his cleat. I kicked the sole of his cleat full force. This was almost two weeks ago and the top my foot continues to be bruised at about the middle, middle-top (near ankle). It hurts a little to pull my toes back and a lot to curl them. Walking also causes discomfort. Going for x-ray later today.. what could it be?
Hi, thanks for writing. From the description, it could be a simple soft tissuecontusion resulting in swelling and pain on touch. If you are walking normally, there could be nothing wrong with the bones in the foot. Usually these soft tissue contusions resolve within 3 weeks with simple measures like * analgesic & antiinflammatory medicines * intermittent hot fomentation If it still hurts after 3 weeks, you need an evaluation by an orthosurgeon. Hope this helps. Regards
