Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
The concern that you are facing is known post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation/ PIH.
PIH usually presents as dark colored patches at sites of previous inflammation and can be a cause of cosmetic concern.
In my patients I usually suggest to use a pigment reducing agent or combination of agents like either
kojic acid,
glycolic acid or plain
steroid like
mometasone furoate cream along with sun protection.
The combination that you are using is very good; it is a strong one rather, therefore I usually recommend my patients to use it only under supervision because it can cause side effects like excessive bleaching of pigment and
atrophy of skin on prolonged skin.
I usually prefer to give a safer pigment reducing agent like kojic acid, glycolic acid etc in my patients.
Sun protection is a must along with pigment reducing agents. A broad spectrum sunscreen, that which offers both UV A as well as UV B protection would be ideal.
You may continue with the preparation for another 2-4 weeks, once daily at night and also add a broad spectrum sunscreen during day time.
