It is a medication which prevents seizure. In a head injury patient, when the chance of seizure is suspected, this medicine is prescribed. It has a lot of side effects -Loss of coordination -Nausea, headache -Tremors, slurred speech -Confusion, dizziness -Sleep problems Does skipping or stopping at once can cause a breakthrough seizure? Always consult a doctor before stopping it. Depending on the severity and site of injury, it may be stopped after some time or maybe continued for life.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
