Foul Smelling Pasty Stools Seeping Out Of Anus. Lactose Intolerance Test Negative. Suggestions?

My 6 year old grandson has bouts of foul smelling pasty stools that seep out of his anus. This will happen for a few weeks and then clears itself up. He has had a lactose intolerance test that was negative. It is becoming a social issue at school since he soils his pants with the leakage. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...
