Fractured Legs, Operated, On Bed Rest. How Will I Feel Better?

Hi,
I had got fracture on my leg 3 months before.Doctor advised me not to get operated but put plaster on it as in jus 25 yrs old now. I was on complete bed rest for more than 2 months. Now doctor is asking me to put weight on leg and start walking while plaster is still there.
I am finding it bit difficult to walk with cast. Would I be able to walk properly without any defect after cast is removed?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hello,
Firstly you need to give some more details of the nature of the fracture - location, extent, etc.
Also, I strongly recommend to undergo physiotherapy before you start walking.
You can put weight on your good leg and walk with crutches. Also, since its been 3 months since your fracture, you can do partial weight bearing (just bear 25% of body weight on you affected leg) on your toe and walk slowly. Do some ankle toe movements and consult a physiotherapist for isometric exercises before you immediately just bear complete weight on your leg.

Take care, Get well soon!
