Urologist 's  Response
Hi, Your problem is not an unusual one among women of your age. I ssume you are not a diabetic, but for whatever it worth, i suggest you getan estimation of blood sugar level in the fasting state. If your urine is smelly, you could be having urine infection, and if treated, your problem of increased frequency of urination at night could come down.
There are some ladies who are not diabetic, and have no urinary infection or any other pathology, but have urgency of urination with higher frequency. We term this 'overactive bladder' and often these patients respond to medications such as Tolterodine or Darifenacin, which are reasonably safe, with a few side-effects such as dryness of mouth. However these are prescription drugs meaning you might have to get an order from a physician before using this medication.
Let me know if I can help you further.
Regards.
