I have been taking the ural drinks (but did not work) i then took 3 tablets of promethazine and hydrochloride 25g but did not work then i went to the hospital and they have prescribed me with trimethoprim and sulfamethox (10 tablets twice daily) its day 2 (had 4 tablets) still no sign of getting any better. Could u recommend me anything. I just want this feeling to go away. Thank you
Hi, You are likely to experience significant relief from use of medications belonging to a group known as anti-cholinergics. They reduce the frequency and sensation of urinary urgency. There are several of these, and you can start with the lowest dose possible, say, Solifenacin 5 mg once day, and see if you have relief. they can cause dry mouth and other side-effects at higher doses, and therefore the minimal dose that produces relief can be used till you are comfortable, and you can be gradually weaned off the medication once the infection is cleared.
