From Constipation To Loose Stool Which Is Mucousy, Stringy And Smelly After Changing The NG Tube Used For Feeding.

My dauggter is tube fed by NG tube. I change the tube once a month. She has had loose stool for about a month since the last time we changed the tube. Usually she is constipated and has a hard time going, now she goes some times 2 times a day and its stringy and mucosy and smells really bad.

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Its unlikely to be due to tube related factors.
Its likely to be due the diet factors.
If there is no fever, no distension of abdomen, no blood in stools then there appears no cause for concern , things should settle down.

In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you happy and healthy life

Take Care
