Getting Botox Treatment For Chronic Migraine. Receiving Lidocaine Spray To Numb The Area And Asked Not To Breath

Hi - recently I have been going to a neurology office for botox treatments for chronic migraine. Before the procedure I have been receiving lidocaine spray to numb the area behind my head and neck before the actual injections begin. Why is it protocol for the patient (me) to have to cover my face and not breath during the administration of lidocaine spray, but not protocol for the healthcare professional(s) administering the spray to also shield their eyes/nose/mouth?
