Getting Dark Purple Color Around Toenail On Left Foot, Numbness, Swollen.

I started getting a dark purple color form around my toenail (toe next to big toe) on my left foot, as the morning progresses the purple is creeping up my toe and is becoming a bit swollen. I noticed it a few days ago where now I have a bit numbness. I m 80yrs old with no serious health conditions. Not sure what has brought this on, no stubbing, no brokenness , nothing out of the ordinary. Please help me narrow it down......Ron Timmerman

hope you are non-diabetic. it seems to be some peripheral local inflammation. Show to a doctor for evaluation, meanwhile if there is associated pain you may take paracetamol tab and apply local anti-inflammatory gel locally.
