Glistening Globule Self Contained In Stool With Bright Red Blood. What Do You Advise?
I just completed a morning bowel movement and tyrned around to find the toilet stool specimen surrounded by bright red blood . However, there is also a glistening globule - self-contained - in my stool. I am a 66 year old male in excellent health...with only occasional stool blood due to hemmeroids. I have save the stool sample. What do you advise? Thx
Hallo
Thanks for your query. You have noticed stool in your blood and think it to be due to hemorrhoids.Since you are 66 yrs old I would ask do you have any increased frequency of urination and urgency as well.?Because this is the age when one gets secondary hemorroids due to enlarged prostate. Please get your ultrasound scanning done to rule out the same. Please consult Gen surgeon or Urologist who will do proctoscopic examination to ascertain the degree of plies and would advice you the further treatment.
