Going Through Perimenopause. Night Sweats, Hot Flashes And Headache. Advice?

Hello. I am 49 years old,and had a partial hysterectomy 4 years ago. I was left with 1 overy. I am going through peri menopause and experiencing awful night sweats and hot flashes, as well as headaches . I have exercised my whole life and consider my self in good shape. I am under the understanding that keeping up this routine is good to help with the hot flashes. However, when I am on the treadmill it brings on hotflashes to the point of almost passing out. Is this normal?? I don t want to discontinue my exercise routine so what can I do ??..Thanks for your time..

Hello,

Welcome to the forum. At and around menopause phase most women experience the same symptoms experienced by you. This is a phase of transition. Women need family support to cope up with the changes in physical appearance as well as hormonal changes. Some find it difficult but just change your outlook and you will feel better.

If you are not very comfortable on treadmill do not force yourself on it. There are other exercises that you can perform. You can also reduce the time you spend on treadmill and watch if you feel more comfortable.

You can take food rich in vitamin E, thin buttermilk, yoghurt, salads, fruits, berries, nuts to get
control over your symptoms. Take calcium rich food. Cut on alcohol, caffeine, nicotine.

Take a lot of water, soups and juice. Have a nice day, take care.
