Got Hit On Head With Elbow, Have Headache, Tingling, Tenderness. Should I Be Concerned?
My 16 yr old daughter was hit in the head with a elbow fairly hard when her boyfriend was stretching & she was moving toward him. A couple of hours later, she still has a headache & tingling on that side of her head. Her pupils are equal & reactive. She is alert. No confusion at all. Maybe slightly sleepy, but was prior to being hit. She has tenderness when I touch her head on that side, but it doesn't hurt when she lies on that side. Should we be concerned?
Hello, If there is no bleeding from ear or nose, no episode of unconsciousness after the trauma; you should relax. In case any of above is there get a CT Scan of brain done. The headache should go in a day or two maximum. If required you can give her any pain killer medicine such as Paracetamol or Ibuprofen for headache which is due to local trauma. If any episode of unconsciousness or bleeding occurs (which seems unlikely) see a doctor. Hope she recovers well without any complications. Please feel free to direct any queries this way. Regards.
