Got Hit On The Shin And Have A Bump. Should I Be Worried?
Hello.. So I was hit in the shin by a softball. Right away I got a bump. I still played but iced it every chance I got during the game. I didn t get much of a bruise but it s been two weeks and I still have that bump. It s kinda a slight squishy loose feeling and it still hurts especially when clumsy me bumps it on things barely. Any clue what it could be? By the way it doesn t hurt at all when I walk. Thanks for any input :)
Thanks for the query. Although I do not have a picture or the lesion, nor can I examine you, the trauma and the description of the consistency is most suggestive of a hematoma, a small collection of blood and serous fluid that would get reabsorbed over time; it could take several weeks though to do so.
Hope that is useful, wish you the best,
