Got Leg Split, Pain, Cannot Do Stretches, Gymnast. Treatment?
Hi im Amy and im a gymnast and cheerleader I recently got my right leg split I already have my left leg split but one day I was stretching my right leg split and I felt something literally rip apart almost like when you have that tender steak you just cooked and its pulls apart so easily that's how my leg felt with no exaggeration its been like this for about a month or two now I cant do certain stretches or my leg will be in a lot of pain
I'm sorry to hear about your leg problem. Especially with your gymnastic routine it should be hampering you much. But the only effective treatment for sprains is complete rest of the joint. Your should have get yourself examined when the split occurred and ruled out any sprains or tears of ligaments.
Now I'd advise you to get a consultation with an Orthopaedician done. He may have to do some physical tests and also some scans to rule out any tears. Then some period of immobilization may be suggested. A physical examination is mandatory.
In the meantime you may take some over the counter analgesics like ibuprofen or topical NSAIDs like diclofenac to reduce the pain.
Please revert with further details.
