Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Green Diarrhea, Less Energetic, Grumpier. Anything To Worry ?
My almost three year old son has had green diarrhea for twelve days now. Other than that he has seemed fine. I took him to walk in on day seven, sent a stool sample on day nine and now am waiting for an appointment with our Dr. In four days. The last two days he has seemed less energetic and grumpier. Today he has mentioned several times that his tummy hurts. Should I be taking him to emerge, clinic, or wait till our appointment?
Can you tell me what was the result of the stool sample. Have they detected any bacteria/ parasites?
In any case with diarrhoea of 12 days duration and the fact that the child is tired, fatigued and with tummy aches, it would be better if you take the child to the clinic as soon as possible. He might require antibiotics to get better.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
