Left ear ct showed new growth of cholestoma. Drainage is green thick and smells really bad. I'have a wall up in my left and wall down in my right. I'm now having awful pain in my right ear. I've had a total of 6 of these surgeries. It has ruined my life veritgo is the worst. what should I do? Seems like surgery isn't working to get rid of this. Thank you
I have gone through your query regarding treatment of cholesteatoma in ear other than surgery.
Here I would like to say that cholesteatoma of ear is a disease which can be manage only by surgery and if any body avoids surgery than cholesteatoma will go on increasing in size by eroding nearby bone and ultimately a time come when this will reach up to brain and will give rise to life threatening complications. Unfortunately failure rate of surgery is also quite high.
But I think in cases of recurrence low canal wall with open cavity operation is the best choice because in this type of operation recurrence may be manage by removing the cholesteatoma from defect of posterior canal wall very easily by suction.
Therefore I will suggest you to please consult your ENT doctor for it's treatment.
Regards.
