Had A Hysterectomy And A Bladder Sling Surgery, Noticed My Hands And Feet Swelling. Is It Due To Surgery?
I had a hysterectomy and a bladder sling surgery 8 weeks ago. Returning to work 2 weeks ago. This past weekend I ve noticed my hands and feet swelling with a lot of pitting in the left leg. Can this reaction have anything to do with the surgeries? Noticed that there is urine leaking happening which wasn t prior to my returning to work. Should I go to the ER?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Edema in both limbs could be due to low protein levels, electrolyte imbalance, kidney problems or cardiac problems. You need to evaluated for it, need to get complete blood count, blood protein level, electrolyte level, urine routine and cardiac check up. urine leaking could be due to improper strengthening of bladder wall in operation. pelvic muscle strengthening exercise helps to support bladder wall.
Consult your doctor for examination and management. Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries. Wish you good health. Take care.
Regards Dr. Vidya
