Had A Fungal Infection. Took Medicine & Cured. After 3 Months, Now Every Time I Clean Flecks Of Fresh Blood Is Coming. Problem?
Hi, I had a fungal infection in my ear a few months ago caused by trapped water. The last time I saw the ENT was on 5 March 2013 and he seemed to be happy with it and said everything was fine and that I shouldn't use the drops my GP had prescribed a week earlier. Ever since then every time I clean my ear very gently with an earbud I notice that there are tiny flecks of fresh blood. Shouldn't everyting have healed by now, three months later? Is this anything to worry about? Should I get a second opinion from a different ENT?
As you are seeing small amounts of fresh blood on your ear buds, though using very gently, I personally don't think that it is completely normal. It is better to consult ENT one more time. Also if you are above 40 years get your diabetic status checked since this also could be a reason for recurrent fungal infections in ear.
Take Care!
