Had A Hysterectomy. Now Post Operation, Am Gaining Weight. Walk And Play Squash. Did Blood Test. Advised To Start Hormone Therapy

Good morning. I had a hysterectomy in March this year. Both my ovaries were left. The op went well and I recovered very well. My concern now is my weight gain. Pre op I weighed 59kg, weight to date is 71kg. I have not changed my diet,I walk 5 times per week, play squash and tennis 3 times per week. Had blood test this morning to check thyroids ect. Have been told that maybe I need to start hormone therapy?? Any advice

DEAR MA'M, HI! POST HYSTERECTOMY WEIGHT GAIN IS A COMMON PROBLEM. IT HAPPENS DUE TO SUDDEN CHANGE OF HORMONES. YOU MIGHT NEED HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY BUT ONLY IF YOU ARE FACING OTHER PROBLEMS AS WELL OF MENOPAUSE. ONLY WEIGHT GAIN IS NOT AN ABSOLUTE INDICATION. REGARDS!
