Had A Quadruple Bypass, Active, High Triglyceride. Can I Take Krill Oil?
I am nearly 75 years old male had about 5 years ago a quadruple bypass> doing reasonably well, active in Gardening & boating I weigh 197 Lbs (should be about 175) take daily prescribed medication. Triglyceride is still high. Everything else within normal/acceptable levels. Still work about 10hrs/week (Marine surveyors- ships & Cargo) Would it be OK for me to take Krill oil?
Hello, KRILL OIL contains omega 3 fatty acids and are thought to be good to lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels, however there is no complete medical evidence for such effect.More scientific evidence is required to prove this effect. Since many doctors do prescribe this for lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels, you may use it but only after talking to your treating doctor. The best treatment for reduction of triglyceride levels are regular exercises, avoiding sugar and alcohol and reduction of weight. Thanks
