Had Cysts Removed From Ear And Neck. Possible Causes?
HI- I am a 21 year old male and I ve had two cysts removed from the bottom of my ear and neck almost a month ago. I now have four small ones on my forehead , and another one in my earlobe . My father recently had one on his forehead. I figure it must be hereditary. I also noticed that these epidermal cysts began to appear as I ve gone through another growth spurt in the past 3 months. What are some of the possible causes? Is there a name for this disease? I am having trouble finding some docs about this. What are foods that increase the potential for a cyst to progress? vice versa?
The cysts can be epidermoid cysts or sebaceous cysts (if these are really cysts). Otherwise these can be neurofibromas which can be in the family. So, whatever has been taken out needs to be histopathologically examined by a pathologist.
