Hello, gharidoss,
Your surgery was a year ago and I don't suspect any problems
related to the surgery itself. Most of the complications tend to
occur within the first 10-15 days after surgery.
Most of the people who have had gallstones also tend to have
a
hiatus hernia and GERD (Gastroesphgeal reflux disease).
Your symptoms got worse after some heavy work.
This is probably the reason. Some have typical
heartburn,
others may have burping and
bloating. Some have hoarsness,
or night time cough or recurrent
sinus infections etc.
Try to avoid carbonated beverages, real spicy foods, citrus
and tomato products, excess caffeine, alcohol .
You can start taking
Omeprazole 20 mg. once or twice a day
about one hour before meals and see if that relieves your
symptoms.
If the symptoms persist after 4-6 weeks, get an upper GI-xrays
to see if you have a large hernia which may need further care.
I wish you well.
