Had Gastric Bypass Surgery Previously, Now Diagnosed With Chronic Gastritis. Gastritis And Bypass Inter-related?
I have recently been diagnosed with chronic gastritis from a upper endoscopy . I am also a former gastic bypass patient. I am currently taking omprazole. Is there a relationship with the gastritis and the bypass in 2008?. Do I need to get on a gastritis diet and will I have to take this medicine the rest of my life? Thanks Paula

hello paula,
i have gone through your details and i feel you need not worry about gastritis as you are on omeprazole.gastritis is common after gastric bypass as bile secretions are in direct contact with gastric mucosa.please try to take prokinetics (domperidone) for better effect.you need not take medications for life long but for few months only.
