Had Herniated Discs. Taken Valium And Steroid. Pain In Head And Neck. Help
Had seven prothetic neck ruptured hearniated discs fused three weeks ago. Developed and exaberated condition by being vain and putting hands above my head to fix hair. NOT VAIN, to much Velco, cut it all off but too late. Neurosurgeon prescribed valium and steroid, starting at 4.0 mg going down to 2mg. Should be ending in less pain except I developed shingles this past weekend. Tried to c all doctors. Out of antidepressant EFFEXOR ER for two days, RISPERDRIL for the same time, take adderal but not lately. Taking steroid, and now valtraxyne for steroids for a week and days consecutively. Taking oxy and hydrocodone in NORCO strenghtes across the day. Percoset with Steroid in A.M., Norco and Adderal during the afternnon peppered by Steroid and Adderal, couple with Valium and Valtrex. Dr. wants new pain pill but is no allowed to prescribe stronger than Norco Hydro. Considered to close to fill until the 7th. See psychictrist whos puter was not working and went early for adderal. Use medco n got pills for a night on Effexor n resperdral NOTHING FOR TOMORROW AND FILLED BY MEDCO> NEURO SURGEON IN SURGERY TILL FRIDAY P.m. I have a 3:15 apt and he is not my pain mgmt. dr. He says I have enough pain meds n wanted to wait til 28th when percoset generic are due. I HURT BAD FROM THESE SHINGLEA THAT DRIVE RIGHT ALONG THE BACK OF MY NECKBRACE ON CERVICAL SIX ALONG THE NEW ENDING> MY HEAD IS READY TO EXPLODE ALONG WITH MY NECK.. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Hi,
Shingle usually cause severe acute pains. I understand all the drugs you are taking are oral and there are concerns that associating other drugs may cause severe side effect. I strongly advise you go to the emergency unit of the nearest hospital. They can suspend some of you oral pain medicine and give u injection to manage the acute shingle pain, give some muscle relaxant and/or topical anti-shingle cream. With these you will feel much better, the shingle should healed in a week. Dont forget to remind you neurosurgeon about this shingle as it may be indicating immunosuppression from steroid and dose adjusted.
