Had Knee Replacement Surgery 6 Months Ago With Swelling Above The Knees Due To Hyper-sentitive Nerve Pain In The Surrounding Tissues. Can I Go For Tap Dancing?
Hi. My name is Evette. I had total bi-lateral knee replacement six months ago and I believe that I am doing very well. I still have a lot of swelling above my knees and due to hypersensitive nerve pain in the skin and surrounding tissues. However, I had months of very aggressive physical and aqua therapy and I believe in total rehabilitation for my knees. I also swim once a week for my exercise. Just started and trying to slowly build it. I was really out of shape before the surgery. I have an opportunity to take a tap dance class (never had it before). What do you think? Please email me at YYYY@YYYY
Hi, It would appear that you are making good progress after you total knee replacements. It is important to keep your exercise programme going so I would recommend that you start your tap dancing class. I hope you enjoy it. Regards, Dr K A Pottinger, MBChB FRCA
