Had Loose Motions, Prescribed Antibiotic With Enterogermina And ZN20. Having Fever With Yellow Urine. Side Effect?

My 4 year old was suffering from loose motions (greenish yellow, sticky). The doctor prescribed an antibiotic along with Enterogermina and ZN20. The antibiotic course was over in 3 days. While his stools are almost back to normal, his urine is now slightly yellow and he's having fever. His palms especially have stayed very hot for last 1-2 weeks. Is there a possibility there's some other infection apart from the stomach infection (which got cured)? Is the fever and yellow urine a side-effect of Enterogermina or ZN20 syrup?

Hi,

Yellow urine shows high concentration, i.e., your child has lost water enough to get dehydrated. That's why our body has a defensive mechanism to conserve water and make the urine more concentrated (yellow color).

With regards to his hot palms, it is a symptom of fever, which has been covered by using antibiotic to fight the infection.

ZN20 contains zinc, which has been shown very effective in treating acute diarrhea in children.

Enterogermina is used to re-organize the intestinal micro-biota, in order for your child to recover as quick as possible.

Both Zn20 and enterogermina do not have effect on changing the color of urine. Unless, there are other artificial coloring of the syrup that can make some changes.

I would also suggest to give your child O.R.S for re-hydration and plenty of water.

Hope it helped!
