Had Lump On Areola, Sore To Touch, Pus, White Solid Substance And Blood Came As I Popped It
I have had a small lump on my areola for a few years..this past week I noticed it got the size of a pea and was sore to touch, it looked as if there may have been pus in it and there was a tiny hole like the size of a pen in it. Today I ended up popping it and pus and blood came out of it and also a soft but solid white substance probably the size of a marker dot. I noticed that that substance was actually the part of the lump that had the tiny pen hole in it...just wondering what is the lump and the white solid substance that came out of it is
The small lump in the areola is blocked & infected sebaceous gland. The white solid substance as mentioned in your post is a mixture of sebaceous material & pus.
Symptomatic relief from pain can be obtained with analgesics & a course of antibiotic need to be taken to eradicate the causative agent. Make sure you do not touch or press it further as it may aggravate the infective process.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
