Had Lump On Bottom Of Tongue. Specialist Suspected For Virus. Any Ideas?
hello doctor i just recently went to the ear/nose/thorat specialist an had a lump about the size of the top of your pinky an about a half inch long cut off the right side bottom of my tongue back by my jaw tooth at the bottom of my tonuge anyway i asked him what it was but he really never said anything just that its sees this all the time an its common i have to go back i the 6 of aug for a checkup he said it was some kind of virus thats all he said do u have any idea what it could be
thanks for your query, the lump could be because of an obstructed salivary gland duct or there might be a cystic lesion of the salivary gland in the floor of the mouth, you need to undergo some radiographs like mandibular occlusal radiograph to rule out any stones in the duct or any calcification within the duct... consult a oral physician to rule out these above said conditions..
