Hello
PCOS causes testosterone levels to rise and it also causes insulin resistance. The hormonal abnormalities tend to become normalised once you start losing weight. Even if you become pregnant, you will gain about 10-12kg of weight which can be lost after your delivery. But it is essential for all of us to maintain our body weight within the normal range as obesity is associated with a lot of diseased like heart diseases and diabetes, not only PCOS. Regular exercise and a balanced diet is essential to keep the weight in check. Severe exercise and crash dieting does not help, infact it makes matters worse.
Also have you got any karyotyping tests done after your abortions? You need to discuss with your gynecologist as to why your having repeated miscarriages. Chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus can cause such repeated abortions (although there are many more causes)
Take care
PCOS can be associated with problems conceiving and lifestyle measures such as weight reduction is one of the first means of treating it.
You can reduce your weight by diet or by exercise and it is actually easier to do it by changing your diet. This is because weight loss requires the energy going into your body (food and drink) to be less than the energy coming out ( exercise).
Alot of exercise is needed for there to a enough difference between the two. Exercise is important in general fitness and in keeping the weight off once you have lost it.
If you can alter your diet, it would help with the weight loss. This would involve increasing the amount of salads, vegetables that you use, decrease your use of carbohydrates, eliminate the use of sodas or fruit drinks, drink alot of water.
I hope this helps
