Had Nerve Damage, Painful, Symptoms Of CRPS, Have ACL Injuries, Have Swelling. Had Knee Reconstruction. What Does This Show?
I had knee reconstruction just about 2 years ago, there was nerve damage done when having the surgery. I've been in pain ever since. The doctors focus on the acl and in side the knee for my pain problems every visit. I have a family member who has crps tell me I have symptoms of crps/rsds. Any help is appreciated. I have sever sensitivity to touch, thing that shouldn't hurt me do cause pain. My whole leg that the nerve damage started on is now pins and needles and causes a lot of discomfort, more so than after the operation was done. It's swells up everyday, my range of motion has went from good to poor in the past year. I'm young 18 had the surgery at 16, would like to know the problem I have and what kind of physician to consult. Thanks.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. After the reconstruction of the knee joint, mild pain and swelling may persist for upto 8-10 weeks. This gradually decreases with rest, oral anti inflammatories, hot fomentation and graded exercises under the guidance of a physiotherapist. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
