Had Nissen Fundoplication, Vomiting, Pain In Abdomen, Feels Food Poisoning From Chicken
if you have had nisson fundoplication and feel you possibly have food poisoning from chicken, have had vomiting, some food mostly liquid, can not get comfortable laying down, are there any risks or dangers or could it be something else? He has no fever but pain and cramping in abdomen. no blood, no fever, no diarrhea.
It all depends when was the surgery done. If it was a week or two ago, some minor risk of sutures break is possible. But first of all you should have possible complications ruled out. Fluid collection inside the abdomen, stomach perforation should be considered. If its a month or longer after a surgery, food poisoning is most possible.
I suggest you to consult your surgeon if the surgery was recently and have blood work, CRP and abdominal ultrasound done.
Food poisoning should go away by itself. Please try to avoid solid foods for 12 hours, have more liquids. If the symptoms wont go away within 48 hours, please consult your doctor.
Hope this will help. Regards.
