Had Nose Accident, Sinus, Blocked Nose, Cold, Bump. Will Sinus Operation Changes Nose Appearance?
I had an nose accident at the age of 8 years
so nw I m of 19 years and I have sinus
due to which my nose remains block for months and even cold is also very frequent for me
I hv a bump on my nose so
I want to have a sinus operation
so is it useful for me
and would it change my physical appearance of my nose
Hi, An operation on your sinuses would not change the appearance of your nose. If you feel your sinuses are constantly blocked then there are treatments that may help you. Decongestant nasal sprays or steroid nasal sprays may help. Paracetamol and ibuprofen if your sinuses are painful. Your doctor may consider antibiotics may help but these are not needed in all cases. Sinus operations would not be first-line treatment. Regards, Dr K A Pottinger, MBChB FRCA
