Had Pacemaker Put. Feel Dizzy, Light Headedness, Bloated Stomach And BP Still High. On Losartan, Amlodipine And Citalopram
my husband had a pacemaker put in july 24th and prior to that had been dizzy & lightheaded all the time. since the pacemaker he still has the same symptoms and bloated stomache most of the time. his blood pressure is still high
so they have put him on the bystolic along with losartan and amlodipine. his family dr. put him on citalopram on august 26th. could all this medicine be causing his problems?? thank you
Respected ma'm Thanks for writing to us. 1. A bloated abdomen / dyspepsia can virtually be a side effect of any drug. Hence drugs will always be kept as a possible culprit. However before stopping an important drug (like blood pressure lowering drug) physician should evaluate other possible causes. 2. Dizziness, lightheadedness will be associated with blood pressure lowering drugs only when they cause abnormal fall in BP on standing. Citalopram therapy itself may be associated with such symptoms. Please get him evaluated for postural hypotension by your physician. Sincerely Sukhvinder
