Had Protected Sex With Prostitute. Have Itchiness Between Legs And Near Genitals. STD?
Hi doctor, I made the biggest mistake of my life having had sex with a prostitute with the use of a condom. I am now very worried and panicking, I am experiencing itchiness between leg and the exterior of my gentiles. I was wondering if it is just the anxiety or if i am actually imagining these occurrences because i know about the symptoms of some of these stds. I Have already been checked and will be receiving my results by monday.
I need to know when exactly the itching started. If the itching started immediately after sex, then it is probably a fungus causing the problem. If it took over a week then it could be any STD cause. But, there is a good news for you. All STDs other than HIV are curable and HIV does not present with a rash. It is unlikely that you have HIV also because it is very difficult to get HIV. Depending on the prevalence of HIV in your country, the chance can be from as low as 0.6% to 30%. Anyway, after 6 months, get tested for HIV as well. This will help you to relieve your anxiety.
Wishing you the best.
