Dear Julie******
thanks for your question
your presenting symptoms are burning sensation, itching in
vulva and vaginal region,
redness which developed about 10 days of intercourse.
there is no abnormal discharge or blistering.
Most probably the presenting symptomatology directs us to
vaginal thrush.
Its a infection that develops due to infection of vaginal mucosa by Candida albicans. It is a very common infection that usually develop in persons who are diabetic, immunocompromised, in persons with intercourse with infected individual, in persons who wear tight undergarments and who use detergents to wash their private parts.
mostly its a minor infection with soreness, redness, burning sensation with itching in vaginal region some times blood streaks are also seen.
What can be done?
well you can use Clortrimazole cream for local application, maintain proper hygiene, wear loose undergarments.
tab
fluconazole single dose will improve situation (~90% of cases)
hope i solved for doubt.
thanks kindly rate take care
