Had Sex, Missed Birth Control Pill, Discharge And Frequent Urination, Heavily Bleeding Now
I had my period last week, the day it ended my boyfriend came to visit me and we had sex frequently for 5 days. I had been taking my birth control like I should. 2 days after he left I missed 2 pills. I noticed a lot of discharge and frequent urination . I thought it was a yeast infection but just today I am heavily bleeding . I don t usually have heavy periods and I have never had a period a week after the last. What is going on?
Hi, Thanks for the query. As you missed two pills complete protection from pregnancy can not be expected. Missing of two pills can lead to withdrawal bleeding due to falling of hormones. So, possibly because of that you are having heavy bleeding. Usually this bleeding will subside soon. If continues or increases, consult gynecologist once and get examined. If she suggests go for ultrasound once. If no other abnormality is found, possibly by taking anti - fibrinolytic drugs the bleeding will subside. If needed you can go for additional dose of hormones to control the bleeding. And along with continuation of contraceptive pills, you need additional contraceptive method in this month to avoid the possibility of pregnancy. Take care.
