Had Spider Bite. Lump On Arm, Spreading, Itchy. Cause?
Hello, I had a spider bite about three weeks ago on my arm. Then two weeks later, I had some type of of bite or welp under my skin on my face. It went away in about 3 days. Yesterday morning a small lump appeared on my arm and by the end of the day there were two. It's very itchy just like the spider bite and the welp that was on the side of my face. Do you this is or what the cause may be?
Hi From your desription , it looks like you have developed lesions of Vector dermatitis, also known as Paederus dermatitis.. The disease is provoked by an insect belonging to the genus Paederus. It is a type of irritant dermatitis that develops after insect bite.
You need to apply an antibiotic/steroid combination cream over the lesion twice a day. Take oral antihistamine like levocetrizine once a day to decrease the swelling. Clean and disinfect all your bedding and clothing.
Hope it helps Wishing you speedy recovery Dr Geetika Paul
