Had Subtalar And Navicular Dislocation. Pressure At Ankle. Reinjury Possible?

I suffered a subtalar and navicular dislocation 3 weeks ago. I am currently in a fiberglass cast. On the way home today, I had my cast crossed over my opposite leg and I felt a lot of pressure at the ankle. It almost felt like there was a gas bubble that was going to pop. It s been sore all day...is this just the tendons/ligaments or did I possibly reinjure the dislocation?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

All your symptoms in the description could possibly due to the pressure exerted by the cast over the injured tissues while placed in a specific position. There is no possibility of reinjuring the dislocation with simple crossing over of the cast over the other leg.

I don't think its a matter of concern. It should resolve spontaneously with time.

Keep your foot end in elevation and perform active toe movements which will help in resolving the tissue oedema and thereby the pain.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
