Had Total Vaginal Hysterectomy. Having Smelly Brown Discharge, Sore Abdomen. Hard Spot Under The Lap Site In The Umbilicus. Serious?
Hello. I had a total vaginal hysterectomy almost two weeks ago. I have been having brown discharge that to me smells bad. It sounds gross but the best way i think to discribe it is like an old used tampon or bad BO. My abdomen is still achy but no pain. No fever. I do have a hard spot developing under lap site in my umbilicus. Not sure if i sould be worried. Sadly with 'affordable health care' i cant afford to see a doctor.
Hello, It will take at least 3 to 6 weeks to feel better. You will probably get tired easily during this time. You may not feel like eating much. You will likely have light spotting for 2 - 4 weeks. It may be pink, red, or brownish. But it should not be with bad odor. It may be due to infection. In addition you also have abdominal pain. It is usual to have the hard spot in laproscopy site due to fibrosis and healing. Please consult your surgeon. He/ She may prescribe antibiotics if they suspect infection.
Hope this helps. Please reply for further queries. Wishing you good health.
